About SawaalBox
SawaalBox is a website of past questions from Indian competitive exams, starting with the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. You can read and search them without an account, and mark questions and keep revision lists. It is run by Shriram Agrawal, Bengaluru, Karnataka ("we"). SawaalBox is not connected with UPSC or any government body.
By using SawaalBox you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
The beta
SawaalBox is in beta. Free during the beta. Some features may later need a paid pass; we'll tell you before anything you use changes.
Your account
- Accounts are for people aged 18 or over. Reading and searching need no account, so they are open to everyone.
- You sign in with your own Google account. An account is for one person; please don't share it.
- Keep your Google account secure: anyone who can sign in to it can use your SawaalBox account.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@sawaalbox.in. Your marks and lists are deleted with it.
- We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms.
How we handle your account's data is set out in the privacy policy.
Using SawaalBox fairly
Use SawaalBox for your own study. Please don't:
- scrape the site or the search service, or send them automated or bulk requests. The search service runs on a small server, and heavy use slows it down for everyone;
- try to get into anyone else's account or data, or get around the site's security;
- try to overload, break or disrupt the site;
- use SawaalBox for anything unlawful.
Questions and answers
Questions are reproduced from past papers: UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination, 1995–2026.
The questions, answers, subjects, topics and difficulty levels were taken from a compilation of past papers. Mistakes can creep in, in the compilation or in how we copied it, and no subject expert has checked them. Questions that UPSC cancelled, and answers that are disputed, are flagged where we know of it. Always check an answer against official sources, such as the answer keys UPSC publishes, before you rely on it. If you find a mistake, please tell us.
Search finds questions by what they are about, so its results are a guide: it can miss a relevant question or show one that is not.
No guarantees
SawaalBox is provided as it is. We don't promise that it is complete, correct, or always available. The search service can take up to a minute to start after a quiet spell, and may sometimes be unavailable.
Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using SawaalBox or relying on it: for example, a wrong answer, a question the search missed, or marks and lists that are lost. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that Indian law does not allow to be limited.
Changes
We may change, pause or stop parts of SawaalBox. When we change these terms, we update the date at the top; if a change affects what you can do with your account, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. You can stop using SawaalBox at any time.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at hello@sawaalbox.in; most problems are quicker to sort out that way.
